GiveBack Live

Privacy Policy

Effective 22 September 2026

This policy explains what Platinum Rule Consulting LLC collects when you use GiveBack Live, why, and who else sees it. It covers attendees who register for an event and staff of the nonprofits that run events on the platform.

Who holds your information

When you register for an event you are giving your details both to the nonprofit hosting that event and to Platinum Rule Consulting LLC, which runs the platform on that nonprofit's behalf. The nonprofit decides what it does with its attendees' information; we hold and process it so its event can run, and we do not use it for our own purposes beyond operating and securing the service.

What we collect

What you give us when you register or take part:

  • your first and last name
  • your mobile number, which is also how you sign in
  • your email address
  • optionally, your postal address, and a recognition name if you choose to be shown publicly by name rather than by bidder number
  • whether you opted in to hear from the nonprofit about its future events
  • what you bid on, enter, buy or give, and what you owe or have paid

What we record automatically, to keep the event and your record secure:

  • the IP address you registered and signed in from, and your browser's user-agent string
  • the times you signed in and were last active
  • a session cookie on your device that keeps you signed in to that event

We do not receive your card number. Card payments are entered on the payment processor's own form; what reaches us is the amount, the payment method type, the processor's reference and whether the payment succeeded. We run no advertising or third-party analytics trackers on attendee pages.

Why we use it

  • to register you, give you a bidder number and sign you back in when you change device
  • to run the auction, raffle and giving — recording bids and entries, working out who won, and telling you
  • to take and reconcile payments, and to produce the nonprofit's financial records for its event
  • to send you the service messages described below
  • to keep the platform secure: rate-limiting, detecting abuse, and keeping an audit trail of staff actions
  • to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations

Text messages and your consent

We send you a text only if you ticked the box at registration. If you did not, your mobile number is used to identify your registration and nothing is ever texted to it — your one-time sign-in code is emailed to you instead. If you did, that box covers the sign-in code, your bidder number, outbid and winner notices, and payment receipts and reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop the messages or HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services, such as the messaging provider that delivers the texts, is permitted. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any other purpose, and we do not sell your mobile number.

When you tick that box we record the moment you did and the exact wording you agreed to, so that the consent can be evidenced later. Reply STOP and the texts stop.

Who else sees your information

The nonprofit hosting your event, and its staff and volunteers, can see your registration, what you bid on and what you owe. That is the point of the platform: it is their event and their attendee list.

Beyond that, we share only with the service providers that make the platform work, and only with what each needs to do its job:

  • our hosting and database provider, which stores the data and serves the pages
  • the messaging provider that delivers text messages — it receives your mobile number and the message
  • the email provider that delivers email — it receives your email address and the message
  • the payment processor the nonprofit has chosen, which handles the card payment itself

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to respond to lawful requests, or to establish or defend a legal claim. If the business is ever sold or merged, attendee information may transfer with it, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

How long we keep it

Registration and transaction records are kept for as long as the nonprofit needs them for its event, its accounts and its tax and legal obligations. Sign-in sessions and one-time codes expire quickly and are cleared out; the codes themselves are never stored, only a hash of them. A nonprofit may ask us to delete its event data, and we will do so except where we must keep a record.

How we protect it

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Sign-in codes and session tokens are stored only as hashes, staff passwords are hashed, and staff access is limited by role and recorded in an audit trail. No system is perfectly secure, but we design on the basis that a leaked record should not be enough to act as you.

Your choices

  • Texts: reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help.
  • Email about future events: use the unsubscribe link, or ask the nonprofit directly.
  • Being shown publicly: you choose whether a recognition name appears on public screens; otherwise you appear as your bidder number.
  • Access, correction and deletion: ask us, or ask the nonprofit hosting your event. Because the nonprofit is the one running the event, we may pass your request to it, or ask it to confirm before we act.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights over your personal information, including to know what is held, to have it corrected or deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, contact us by email at support@mygivebackhub.org or by post at 250 N Litchfield Rd Ste 261, Goodyear, AZ 85338. We will not charge you for it.

Children

The platform is for adults. It is not directed to children, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we will delete such information if we learn we have it.

Changes to this policy

The current version is always published at https://givebacklive.org/privacy with the date it took effect. Material changes will be reflected there before they take effect.
